Coffea robusta or simply Robusta Coffee is the other widely grown species. It grows at much lower altitudes, typically between sea level and 1,000ft (300m). It is highly disease-resistant and typically produces twice the yield per tree than Arabica. Robusta will produce a more bitter, heavier cup with less “brightness” and fewer fruit notes.
